19-A

1. You

I am a senior at the University of Florida interested in a bachelors degree in Sports Management. I am 21 years old and I am part of the Varsity Swimming and Diving team at UF. I think of myself as a hard worker and very self motivated especially when it is something that I am passionate about. I cannot start something without finishing it and giving it my all to say to myself that I tried even if I failed at least a I learned something. I have experience in odd jobs such as waiter, busboy, and boat lift maintenance which have help with my people skills but not very related with my major. My goal with my major is to work in a management position so that I can be a leader and motivate others the same way I motivate myself.

2. What are you offering to customers?

I am offering a service that will allow University of Florida students (customers) to be able to drive their vehicle to their designated building and be able to give their keys to a valet attendant which will then drive their car to a parking lot specifically for that building.

3. Who are you offering it to?

I am offering this service to not only students at the University of Florida but also the faculty. This service will provide an easier time management when traveling to campus because you wont have to factor in the possibility of not being able to find a parking spot.

4. Why do they care?

Students and Faculty care about this problem because it creates this unnecessary hassle of driving to school earlier than needed because of the possibility of not finding a parking space and being forced to park far away.

5. What are your core competencies?

What sets me apart from anyone is my high level of sports background and how I have transferred it into my work. I have been competing all my life so to now be done with sports and move on into a job I transfer what Ive learned from competing to compete within the job.

I believe that these five elements do work together. There is and has always been a need for some sort of solution to UF's parking problem. The only solution that has been created to fight this problem is more parking lots but this system would not only solve the parking problem on campus with designated lots for buildings but will also eliminate the hassle of finding a spot for students and faculty.

Feeback Memo

I took away some positive feedback from the comments that I had on my post. They were all good things about how the idea was a new creative idea to solve this problem. I thought this time though I would try to condense my ideas as if I was actually writing on a napkin.

  1. Hey Alex,

By reading the bio you built for yourself here, it seems that there's enough to qualify you as a serious contender in the crazy world that is business, marketing, and product creation. I think starting with UF students and faculty is a great idea as people are always excited to use local products over commercialized ones. Finally I think your core competencies definitely sets you apart from most innovators and will go a long way in helping you if you ever plan to head into that field.

  2. Hey Alex!

I liked how you condensed your post like you were actually writing it on a napkin, smart idea. Being involved in sports your whole life is an excellent way to develop competitive drive— I am the same way. With your work ethic and creative business concept I have no doubt you’ll succeed, good luck the rest of the semester!
