I would consider my Dad to be an entrepreneur. Growing up with my dad he was working a lot and did not socialize during the week very much because he worked a lot of hours. When I was younger I never really realized what he was doing or who he was working for. Now that I am older I now see what my dad does and how many people he knows in order to be successful. My dad has introduced me to people whether it was a random friend from college or family that we have known for a while but I now realize that my dad has created businesses with them or has invested in other business such as restaurants or his newest investment which would be in a Canadian restaurant called St-Hubert. I consider my dad to be a successful entrepreneur because he has taken his skills to his own work and has also applied it to other jobs and life because he believes in himself and knowns a lot of information so he knowns how to deal with people and how to manage a team and himself in business.

I enrolled in this class because after seeing how much he has accomplished I would love to understand more about what he does and what I can do in order to become as successful as he is. I understand that this class is not going to do the work for me but I believe that a class like this will provide some information and insight on how an entrepreneurs lifestyle begins and maintains.

    Hi Alex!

    I really enjoyed reading this post because my dad is also an entrepreneur. My dad also used to say one of the most important aspects of business is people skills and how you represent yourself because it also reflects your business. I too wish to be a successful entrepreneur like my father. Also, awesome picture with Obama!

After reading through all my post the one that sticks with me the most is the elevator pitch. Not only did I have to do this three times but I remember having some laughs with my roommates when they saw me all dressed up just to go in my room to record myself. Opportunity: There is an unmet need for this opportunity within the University of Florida campus and other college campuses. The need is for parking on campus when driving to your designated classes or building. This opportunity will solve the need of easy parking because it will have coordinated parking schedules with the building and the schedule of the student or faculty. This opportunity has been a need for quite some time and the only way that UF is trying to solve it so far is by building more parking garages which is creating parking but not convenient to the students or staff. Innovation:  The service that I will provide a valet system that will help students, faculty, and staff park their cars in an orderly and quick fashion. 1.      I plan to exit the market and sell in the next 5 years. Before I do this though I will need to expand my market a little more rather than just keeping my service on one campus. If I can get my service on most of the University across the united states then I will have a better offer for this business which I will most likely accept. 2.      I selected this strategy so that I do not have to pay attention to the service anymore. I created this service partly because I am in college but once I am out I will not understand what the next need is. 3.      I never thought of my exit strategy until now so I don’t believe that it has influence my other decisions. It has influence my growth intentions because I would like to make a large profit from this service which will only happen if it is produced on more campuses.
