An opportunity that exist is the need of space for more parking within the University of Florida. An opportunity that could arise is a valet system that you could drive specifically to your class and then a valet person drives your car to a parking lot. After the class you could either wait for the valet to bring your car back to you or simply take a bus to the parking lot or walk. The opportunity for more parking will always be an issue and UF is adding more and more parking but the parking location is not changing and will still be far away for most students which is why this valet system could work. This need came from people being forced to park extremely far away from their classes and then having to walk and most likely being late because of the time spent to find a parking spot. I am 100% this opportunity exist but I am not so sure that this could be the solution to the parking problem on campus.

Do you experience the need for this valet system all the time or only sometimes?-- "I wouldn't say all the time but the times that I do have class it would be extremely convenient if I was able to drive straight up to the building."
How long have you had the need for this system?-- "Since I brought my car up to Gainesville I would say that it has not really helped me getting to class but with this system it would then be of great used to me. So I would say that I have needed this system since Freshman year when I brought my car."
When did you first become aware of this need?-- "When I came to college I realized that there was a shortage of parking because when I needed to go to class I realized how many people were also going to class and it took me literally 30 minutes to find a parking space."
How are they currently addressing the problem?-- "They are building more and more parking lots, like the parking garage over on Gale Lemerand, I guess thats how they are fixing it."
Reflection:
When I was telling Sean about my idea of this opportunity he thought it was a great idea and that he would pay extra in order to have this system because it would allow students to get to class faster.

Do you think there is a shortage in parking?-- " I think that there is enough parking but it's so scattered that it still makes it hard to find a spot near classes."
Do you believe as a student you would use this system?-- "I would use it if it replace the parking decal, like if there was some sort of way to pay for this valet system instead of the parking decal then ya I would use it."
Do you think this is a good solution to the parking need at UF?-- "I think it might work but it seems like it would cost a lot of money to pay people to valet cars and it might get confusing when you get out of class and don't know where your car is."
Reflection:
After talking with this prototypical customer I realized that there would be an issue with this system. One being if we are already paying for this decal for parking spaces the issue would then trying to make the decal join in with this valet system. The other problem would be like she said finding your car because if you did not want to wait for the valet guys to get your car then you would be confused on where they left it.

Do you believe that there is a need for a new parking system?-- "ya I think we need a new way to park just because it gets so crowded that even when I do drive to campus I sometimes have to drive to the edges and take a bus anyways to get close."
Do you think this system is a good solution to that need?-- "honestly not really I think parking has been a problem for a while and we just need more lots to be built and then maybe a system that tracks how many spots are open because then we wouldn't spend so much time looking for one. I feel like this valet system is too complicated and too expensive."
If there was a system in place to find a spot quicker what would change about your day to day routine?-- "It would drastically change my dad to day life because I wouldn't have to spend so much time looking for a spot and then being forced to go further from my class to then take the bus and most likely be late."
Reflection:
After discussing with this person I came up with another solution to this problem. If students are being forced to park further we should have some sort of shuttle system that is faster than the busses. The problem with busses is that they do not show up 5 min apart so if you miss it you are going to be very late but if there was a shuttle system maybe that could have more shuttles going to specific buildings this might solve that solution more effectively.
How much of your original opportunity is still there? I think that my original opportunity is still there because parking is always going to be an issue with more and more people enrolling into UF. The opportunity that came up was a valet system so that students could drive closer to their classes but talking with the customers they believe that would be expensive and confusing.
Do you believe that your new opportunity is more accurate than when you started? After changing my opportunity to a more reasonable system such as this shuttle system I believe it is more accurate than the original idea of a valet system. This shuttle system could provide easy transportation to and from classes to the parking lot and enough shuttles could be provided so that the waiting time for a shuttle would be shorter than a bus just like how Disney uses the shuttle system.
How much do you think entrepreneurs should 'adapt' their opportunities based on customer feedback? I believe that there is a trade off of being firm and adapting. If you speak to a majority of customers and they do not believe that they would use this system then maybe you should adapt to what they might consider using. But if customers that criticize and believe that your system will not work you could continue to improve whatever it is youre working on and see if other customers will use it.
