14-A
1. Tenaciousness is a competency. What are the behaviors that you have used (or developed) to keep up with the requirements of this course?
A behavior that you should develop is time management. These assignments are not supposed to just be weekly annoying assignments they are supposed to make you think about how to be an entrepreneur. I would advise you to take this assignments seriously and think hard about them rather than blow them off until last minute and simple have to get them done for credit.
2) Tenaciousness is also about attitude. Talk about a moment or two when you felt like "giving up." What pulled you through? Do you feel like you've developed a tenacious attitude during the past two months? What experience or experiences most contributed to this?
I felt like giving up when I saw the assignment list and how many things we have to do a week. What pulled me through was the lectures with the professor and how he explains that these assignments are supposed to make you think and behave like an entrepreneur which is why I am still here.
3) Three tips. What are three tips you would offer next semester's student about (1) fostering the skills that support tenacity and (2) developing the 'tenacious mindset' ?
I would tell them to get on top of the work sooner rather than later. Create a schedule where one or two days you are set to sit down for a couple of hours to do the homework so that you are not rushed at the end of the week. I would also say to set reminders on whatever you can to make sure that you turned in all of the work. This class has multiple assignments but also has multiple steps to those assignments and you will lose credit if you do not do all of them. Lastly take notes on the lectures, the information that is provided will help you on not only in the class but later on in life when you are trying to become an entrepreneur yourself.

I agree with you when you say that organization is free. If I didn't stay on a solid schedule then my life would be hectic. Staying on top of things and having a nice schedule helps all the assignments seem less stressful. I also thought about giving up whenever I saw how many assignments we had to do a week. However, once I actually started doing it, it seemed a lot less stressful then what I originally thought.
ReplyDeleteDear Alex,
ReplyDeleteAs a student I can definitely attest to the tips that you would provide to future students as well as what you talk about behaviors you've shown to be productive in the class as well as how it feels when you want to give up. A big thing that students touch on in this post is to stay as far away from procrastination and to make sure to take notes on lectures.
Hi Alex,
ReplyDeleteTime management has been something I struggled with a lot in this course too. With a completely online course it is so easy to forget about assignments being due because you don’t go to class everyday. A tip I have used to fix this problem was getting a planner, writing down the assignment due dates and checking it every day.
