Racheal
1. A very good friend from high school that is also attending UF. They are currently taken business administrative classes in hopes of graduating with that degree.
2. Racheal is filling the domain expert slot. She will do so because she has already had business opportunities such as clothe designs. She created the business and the online resource in order to get the business running smoothly in the past and I believe she would be able to help with my business.
3. I met her in high school and we took similar classes and became good friends and stayed in touch as we went off to college at the same school.
4. We have a mutual respect for each other and have done group projects together before and we know how well we work together. I have helped her connect with my dad to help her with programing her website for her business which could potentially give me leverage in asking her help with this project.
5. She will exploit opportunity because she has had to build her own business so she knows how hard it will be and what track we need to be on in order to be successful.
Tyler
1. A brother of a friend of mine. They are good friends of mine as well and I have a lot of trust in them.
2. This person is going to fill my market expert. He will fill this spot because he is a marketing major from FSU and is currently employed for a marketing firm.
3. I contacted the person because I am close friends with his brother who is my roommate at the moment. I was able to contact him through his brother because I also know him because he has visited his brother who lives with me.
4. This particular person is a very nice person and would do something from the kindness of their heart which is why I chose him to be a part of my team. I have helped in him the past with odd jobs such as moving or cleaning his place but I do not think those would matter he would accept this job that out fo the kindness of his heart.
5. Tyler will enhance my ability to exploit this opportunity because he knows the struggles of college students and will be able to sympathize with them because he recently graduated. He knows the struggle and budget of a college student and will be a perfect fit for this market expert position.
Mark
1. Mark helps with the farms finding suppliers to sell their crops too. I know him from playing tennis with my dad at home.
2. Mark would fit the supplier position because he knows not only who can help supply but where to supply in order to make the most profit.
3. I found Mark by playing tennis with my dad. Mark also frequently goes fishing with my dad and I whenever I am home. Mark is a good family friend of ours.
4. I have done odd jobs for Mark such as clean his boat and have a strong connection with him business wise by helping him out with clients because he needed help with a project of his. He would happily help me find suppliers or be my supplier for this project.
5. He with enhance my ability to exploit this opportunity because of the knowledge he knows about being a supplier and what is needed to in order to become successful.
Reflection
I have never had to do any networking before but as I get closer and closer to graduating I am keeping close contact with some important individuals such as these ones that I know could potentially help me in the future. This experience has helped me think of the people that I know and how they can be of use to me so that I could potentially work for them or get their help working for someone else in the future.

ReplyDeleteI think all the people you included in this exercise would be a great addition into your business plan as a whole, they all seem to have skills that would complement your innovative ideas and would only expand your business opportunities. And it seems that in your reflection you realized an important part of business that you hadn't taken into consideration before and that's the first step to mastering everything that innovation can teach you, great job!

ReplyDeleteAfter reading your post it seems like you have a good idea what networking is all about! The people you listed look like they have extensive knowledge that can help you with your product. We sometimes meet people and connect with them without realizing it’s “networking” until later on. Fantastic job, and I can’t wait to see what you continue to come up with.
