23-A
1. The product is offered to a wide variety, students and faculty and staff
V: valuable because it eliminates hassle of parking
R: The people working the service will be trained and prepared
I: This cannot be imitate because once this product is out there cannot be another
N: Substitutes can be bikes but they are slower and not as convenient
2. Reliable product
V: product will always be ready by the first period of class
R: trained attendees will help with this new process
I: There can only be one kind of this product on campus another would defeat the purpose
N: Busses are slow and not reliable with their breaks and when they stop and for how long
3. Large target market
V: The product is for not only students but also for staff and faculty
R: The product will have trained drivers for any type of vehicle even clutch
I: The product is one of a kind and will remain because no other can take that business after one is in place
N: Parking your car takes time and sometimes cannot even find a spot which means more people will turn to this service
4. I am within the market of this need
V: I will also use the service that I am providing because its to help everyone including myself
R: It is rare for someone to create a need and also be using it but this means it is effective
I: This product is new to schools and to this campus and cannot be imitated because once this service occupies the campus there is no necessary reason to have another
N: The substitutes for this are not for me because I do not take the bus and do not own a bike
5. There is no other solution that has solved this problem yet
V: Creating more parking garages has not helped so this service may be more valuable to the campus than a parking garage
R: It is rare that a service like this is present to campus that could help eliminate parking hassle and increase flow when parking.
I: parking garages can be imitated and built wherever but this service might end all of that construction and allow for a more efficient parking method.
N: parking garages cant substitute this product because they attempted that in the past and it has not effectively worked
6. Students and faculty need to have a better parking system
V: This is valuable product because it will help attendance rate for students and faculty
R: This product could potentially make students and faculty happier when driving to school and being at school which is rare
I: This system could potentially be the best parking service on campus which could not be imitated
N: there are no substitutes for a better parking system because we have not found a system that has worked efficiently like this product will.
7. The product offers jobs
V: this is a valuable product because it offers the students an opportunity for a job with flexible hours because it realizes they are students
R: it is rare to have a job that understands the flexibility that is a must for a student when in a job and being a student
I: Other jobs on campus may not offer the same experience and opportunity that this product will
N: the experience and flexibility that this opportunity for a job that could be given to a student cannot be substituted by another job because it will not have the same worth or flexibility
8. I have friends that struggle for a need but are forced to use substitutes like busses or bikes
V: I know exactly what people want when they need a new product or service to help with campus parking
R: It is rare to know and understand what customers are going through and what their need is
I: This is the alternative to their products that they are using now
N: the substitutes are what they are trying to get away from now like busses or bikes to deal with the hassle of on campus parking
9. The product helps all students
V: Who ever already buys the decals can then purchase a decal that will replace their old one allowing them to receive this service
R: The decal that you already paid for does not guarantee parking but this service will
I: You can imitate a decal and try to park on your own but students have already been doing that and it has not worked
N: a substitute for the decal that will allow you to get this service could be to not buy a decal and ride the bus but it will not be as efficient and time consuming
10. More can be added to this product
V: More can be added to the product such as the app I mentioned
R: To have a product that can have more added to it to make it a better product is rare
I: You cannot copy the app that I have created after it has been created due to copyright laws
N: You can substitute a products additions such as the parking garage or the app that will be included with the decal because it was created for this service and will not work otherwise
I think that the large target market is my greatest resource because it really does help the entire school. This is a strong resource to have because more than half of the student population lives off campus or drives a car to their designated classes and will use this service.

Hey Alex,
ReplyDeleteI think you mentioned some good points here and some definitely differentiate your service from others in a similar field. I agree with you that your large target market is your greatest resource, mine is similar in that aspect. Although i didn't think about it at the time of making my list, my target market would be anyone who owns and rides a bike. As with your product, it is anyone who parks at a campus.
Hey Alex, I thought that your resources were good indicators on what sets you apart from your competition. I thought the inclusion of a large target audience, while a simple resource, is a great resource to have for any business. The inclusion of experienced drivers are a great addition for your business, as not everyone drives automatic and everyone wants their car to be handled with care as they are going to class is a great selling point to your product
